Meet Pip, a tiny AI agent. π£ Two plain text files make it who it is: SOUL.md (its personality) and USER.md (its memory about you). Edit them below β then hit Restart agent β» to watch Pip wake up changed. π
SOUL.md
β Pip's personality file
Tap a personality to write into SOUL.md
β SOUL.md edited β restart to load the new personality.
USER.md
β Pip's memory notebook about you
Tell Pip a fact β it gets written to USER.md
π₯ Receive

βοΈ Record

π§ Recall
π§ Amnesia mode β delete USER.md (Pip forgets everything)
β USER.md changed β restart to update what Pip remembers.
Files are only read at startup. Change a file, and nothing happens until Pip restarts and re-reads it.

Pip Β· just woke up
Hiβ¦ I just turned on. I haven't read my files yet. Edit SOUL.md or USER.md, then press Restart agent β» so I can load them. π€
Here's the big idea.
An AI has no biological memory. Its personality lives in SOUL.md and its memories about you live in USER.md β both are plain text files it loads when it starts up.
That's why editing a file does nothing until you restart (the file is only read at startup), and why deleting USER.md means it forgets you completely.
Memory isn't magic β it's just Receive β Record β Recall: hear a fact, write it to a file, read it back next time. π₯βοΈπ§
